About the Museum
The Baltimore Public Works Museum is located in the architecturally stunning historic and still fully functioning Eastern Avenue Pumping Station, circa 1912. It is the first and only museum of its kind in the world; offering exhibits and programs to entertain and inform you about how public works shapes an urban city and its environment.

Visiting this surprisingly interesting Museum will help you learn about the role of public works services on which your modern day lifestyle depends. Fun, informative and interactive exhibits educates the visiting public on the challenges of meeting those demands. You’ll learn what life was like before services like running water, trash removal, paved roads, etc., to the current and constantly improving technology used to make life safer and easier…..and all just steps away from the Inner Harbor.
